PhD student Paula Rojas gave a poster and flash presentation at the Society of Dairy Technology Conference held in UCC 23rd and 24th of November 2023, on her results to date from the MetaBoBainne project, characterising the Irish milk metabolome and its affect on important milk functional indicators
31st Oct 2023, PhD student Paula Rojas gave an overview and update presentation of the MetaBó-Bainne project to date at the UCC Food and Nutritional Sciences Research Seminar
2nd of October, 2023: Dr Tom O'Callaghan during visit to UTEC, the Technological University of Uruguay, met with researchers, students and local dairy processors and presented research from the group including an overview of the DAFM funded MetaBó-Bainne and PastureNue projects
27th of September 2023: Dr Tom O'Callaghan gave an invited presentation at Innova 2023 in Montevideo, Uruguay, titled - Dairy products from pasture-based systems: an Irish perspective on benefits and challenges within this he outlined exciting research ongoing and provided and overview of the DAFM funded MetaBó-Bainne project.

April 2023 project update
Dr Tom O'Callaghan presented aspects of the MetaBó-Bainne project and its objectives at the CEM Irish Food Research Conference during his talk on "Application of metabolomics to assess milk quality and traceability"
March 2023 project update
Our Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine funded research project #MetaBoBainne is now in full swing, currently completing week 4 of milk samples collection from a series of farms for NMR analysis and testing milk for functional properties like heat stability and rennet gelation here in School of Food and Nutritional Sciences and School of Chemistry, University College Cork in collaboration with Teagasc. Pictured below is PhD student on the project Paula Rojas Gómez preparing this weeks samples for analysis. Milk samples will continue to be collected weekly for 2023.
